The Dog Walk & Woofstock is an annual North Carolina fundraiser that brings animal lovers together for a very important purpose: Saving thousands of lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets, and giving them a second chance at happiness in a forever home.
NEW for 2020! Going Virtual!
1. We are transorming the annual Dog Walk & Woofstock benefit event into a virtual experience!
2. We have done away with registration fees, and are encouraging everyone that registers to commit to saving 1 pet life (raising a minimum of $100).
3. Once you raise $100, you get your official 2020 Dog Walk & Woofstock T-shirt to wear with pride on April 4!
Because it takes a minimum of $100 to cover the cost to help an abused and abandoned homeless pet.
Date: Saturday, April 4, 2020
Event Schedule: We are going to be sharing images/videos of participants and their pets wearing their 2020 Dog Walk event gear on SPCA Wake's social media platforms all day. The event will conclude after sunset with a live stream of SPCA Wake staff walking adoptable dogs at the Pet Adoption Center around our torch lit campus.
Where: Your choice! But whether you choose to take your pet for a walk on your favorite greenway or simply stroll around your living room, please be sure to take a picture of you and/or your pet showing your support of animals in need, then share it on your social media as a public post with #SPCAWakeDogWalk and/or post it directly to the SPCA Wake Dog Walk Facebook page.
How do I get started?
Register to fundraise and participate... it's that simple (and it's FREE). You can join as an individual or better yet, create a team and invite everyone you know to fundraise with you!
What does it cost?
It costs nothing to register. We are encouraging everyone that registers to commit to saving 1 pet life (raising a minimum of $100).
SHOULD I REGISTER MY CHILD(REN)?
Having your child join you in fundraising for this event is a great way to help them...
develop critical thinkings skills (why do you want to help the animals?)
communication skills (what are you going to say to Grandma/Grandpa when you ask them to support you?); and
self-empowerment (because of you, "x" animals will now be able to find new families!).
If your child is elementary school-aged or older, we highly encourage you to register and add them to your family's team so they can join you in making a difference in your community.
Note: If your child is younger than 6 years old, they are still welcome to participate, but we recommend waiting to register them/get them involved in fundraising until they are a bit older and can understand the impact they are creating for animals in need!
The dog walk t-shirt
The Dog Walk t-shirt is a classic event tradition. You'll love being part of the social media craze and wearing your shirt on April 4!
How do I get my Dog Walk T-Shirt?
Save 1 Life! This year we're asking everyone that registers for the event to raise enough money to save one pet life. It takes a minimum of $100 to help a homeless, neglected, or abused animal get the treatment they need before they find their new home. So we're rewarding everyone that saves a pet with the exclusive 2020 Dog Walk t-shirt.
HOW DO I GET a Dog Walk Bandana for my pet?
Just register! Everyone who signs up for the event will receive 1 bandana for their pet.
Event Shirt and Bandana Pickup
Friday, June 5: 2pm-6pm
Saturday, June 6: 10am-6pm

To pick up your bandana and/or shirt, pull up past the Adoption Center front doors. There will be a table outside at the end of the sidewalk. Roll down your passenger side window and tell the staff member whose items you are picking up.
Can I get other things if I raise more than $100?
Yes! The top 3 individual fundraisers, corporate teams, and family & friends teams will be invited to a party at the SPCA Wake Pet Adoption Center to celebrate the incredible impact that they have made for animals in our community! Exact date TBD.
HOw do I participate on april 4?
Share why you are helping homeless pets in need! Take a picture or video of you wearing your Dog Walk t-shirt and/or your pet wearing their Dog Walk bandana, then share it on your social media as a public post using #SPCAWakeDogWalk or post it directly on to the SPCA Wake Dog Walk & Woofstock Facebook event page. Be sure to tag/share the post with all of the amazing people who have donated to your campaign and thank them for helping to create a difference for the animals!
When can I pick up my shirt AND/or Bandana?
When: TBD (see below)
Due to the stay-at-home order issued on Thursday by Wake County as well as our concern for the health and safety of supporters like you, our volunteers, and our staff members we have postponed the distribution of shirts and bandanas. Please know that everyone who would like a pet bandana will still receive one, and everyone who has raised $100 or more will receive their 2020 Dog Walk t-shirt.
We are constantly evaluating and following the recommendations of federal, state, and local health authorities. Based upon their guidance, we will update you and this information when new pickup dates/times are scheduled.
